"Veel Amsterdammers kennen hun stad van haver tot gort. De meesten weten de weg van de Roerstraat naar de Westermarkt feilloos te vinden. De straten en hun omgeving leveren een vertrouwd beeld op. Anders wordt het als Amsterdam vanuit de lucht bekeken wordt. Een stad vanuit de lucht levert immers een bijzonder gecompliceerd beeld op. Amsterdammers zullen uiteindelijk wel herkenningspunten zien en zich vervolgens goed kunnen oriënteren. Bekijk de unieke luchtfoto's en geniet van deze beelden, ze leveren voor de liefhebber een heerlijk kijkspel op. De 31 foto's zijn gemaakt vanuit een helikopter. "Many residents of the city of Amsterdam, Holland know their city inside out. Most of them know the route from the Roerstraat to the market near the Wester church without any trouble. The streets and the surroundings provide familiar sites and nothing is strange to them. But is it a different story when they view Amsterdam city from the air because an aerial picture of a city results in a very complicated image. People familiar with the city will eventually recognize landmarks and can usually orientate themselves from these. View the photographs on this site and enjoy them. For the lovers of cities and photography they offer a wonderful show.  The 31 photographs were taken from an helicopter and date back to the period 1992 to 1997. Most of them were taken from a height of about 500 to 700 feet (approx. 150 – 175 meters).
